Southern Charge intends to fill the gaps presented by government granted EVRS in the south. Over the next two years companies like EcoTotality have grants totaling over 350 million dollars to install EVRS in many states. Tennessee will see stations in Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
However, there are gaps in getting a true network for EVRS to expand across to the main commerce centers in the south. Getting to Atlanta is impossible with the present plan and there are no plans to reach Ashville or Research Triangle in Cary, North Carolina.
Southern Charge is being established to expand the reach of electric vehicles to all of the commerce centers in the south.
